“Any day of the week,” wrote Conor Benn on social media on Tuesday, alongside a mock fight poster advertising a 2027 showdown with Conor McGregor.

Pour scorn on it all you want, but Benn-McGregor makes sense for several million reasons.

And given the TKO/Zuffa/UFC marriage, it makes sense on several levels beyond the money, too.

I wouldn’t go as far as to say it is the fight to save Zuffa Boxing, but it is precisely the type of attraction that could open doors, draw new audiences and provide a platform from which a myriad of other shows and fights could be built.

Hi, I hope you’re enjoying Total Boxing. I love to see the platform grow and develop and I have more up my sleeve I’m working on and good interviews coming your way. The Neutral Corner is a weekly Wednesday fixture for subscribers
