LONDON – When Fabio Wardley stares across the ring at Daniel Dubois at London’s O2 Arena on Saturday night, he would be forgiven for thinking he might be walking to the gallows.
Instead, Wardley has been jovial and entertaining this week, buoyed by confidence rather than shrinking with fear.
Because in May, despite twice dropping Dubois early in their Manchester brawl, he was bludgeoned into a brutal 11th-round defeat and while the scars might remain, Wardley’s self-belief has not been breached.
In part, that is because of one of the men in his corner, and not the one you might expect.
