Eddie Hearn has put his nuts on the block

You can’t please all the people all of the time and, with that in mind, promoter Eddie Hearn has his supporters and his detractors.

I like Eddie. We are a similar age. I probably was the first person in boxing to interview him, or certainly to write a significant feature about him.

We haven’t always seen eye-to-eye, but damn, I respect his hustle. I was there when Prizefighter kicked off at Bethnal Green. I was there when David Haye steamrolled Audley Harrison.

I’ve been with him messing around with people in Las Vegas, taken pictures of him and Don King when they first met, have been to his family home – Matchroom HQ – countless times, and I’ve spoken to him in Vegas, New York, Atlantic City, Kiev, Germany and probably half a dozen other places – including all around the UK.
