Synopsis: A rare, and in-depth look into the world of boxing, from the perspectives of amateur and professional fighters as well as industry veterans, at pivotal moments in their quest for Championship Belts. From the streets to the gyms of East Los Angeles, a region rich in boxing history, this documentary follows two boxers at different stages in their careers, the nature of the business as told through their eyes and those of veteran boxing insiders. Daniel Ponce de Leon, professional boxer and member of the Tarahumara Indian tribe of Mexico, fighting his way to the top to become the next junior featherweight champion and first Tarahumara Indian ever to fight for a world title in boxing. Matthew Vasquez, an amateur boxer fighting out of East Los Angeles and trying to fulfill his dreams becoming a professional champion boxer. To get there he has to overcome the everyday struggles of life in East Los Angeles, gang violence, poverty, and a broken home, all feeding his hunger to become the best amateur boxer in the world. Adrian Pasten, Joe Hernández, Clemente Medina, and Mundo “El Brujo” Morales, provide unique insight into the world of boxing from the eyes and experience of long time trainers, Promoters, consultans, and managers as they guide these young fighters in their pursuit boxing glory.
